For one day, our school transformed into a place full of book adventures, mysteries, knowledge, and fairy-tale stories. This year’s library event, focused on the theme of the Library as a Space for Discovery, was held under the title “Offline Adventure: Open a Book, Unlock a World!” It brought together all students from 1st to 9th grade with the goal of supporting reading literacy, sparking an interest in books, and showing that even a world without phones and screens can be full of unforgettable experiences.
Over the course of four lessons, students took part in a variety of activities guided by our wonderful Book Fairies. First-graders discovered the charm of the school library and helped the Book Fairies, students in grades 2 to 5 tested their knowledge in a quiz, and sixth and seventh graders transformed into detectives searching for lost treasure.
The highlight of the event was a theatrical performance, during which our talented students took us into the world of well-known fairy tales, fables, literary works, and portrayals of historical and living famous figures. The program included Little Red Riding Hood, the fable The Lion and the Mouse, a rendition of the poetic work Turčín Poničan, The Little Prince, Romeo and Juliet, and a closing musical-dance performance dedicated to books.
One important idea ran through the entire event: All it takes is opening a book, and a world of endless possibilities, imagination, and adventure opens up before us.
We would like to thank all the students, performers, and organizers who helped create this exceptional day full of joy and unforgettable experiences.
