Artificial intelligence in our school

In today’s fast-changing world, our priority is to provide an education that prepares our students for the challenges of the future. We are constantly looking for new ways to innovate and improve the way we educate in order to keep up with the times and develop the potential of every pupil.

One of the most exciting areas we are focusing on is artificial intelligence (AI). We see huge potential in AI to transform education and prepare our students for the world they will live and work in. Therefore, we decided to integrate different aspects of AI into our educational program to provide our students with a unique and enriching learning experience.

Let us introduce how we use artificial intelligence in our primary school:

Text AI
Our students and teachers are discovering the possibilities of text AI to improve writing and develop creative thinking. These tools help pupils to better understand the text, expand their vocabulary and work more effectively with the information. We use tools like Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, NotebookLM, …

Image AI
In the context of art education, computer science but also for the needs of various other subjects, we are experimenting with tools for generating and editing images using AI. Pupils can develop their creativity and visual skills in new and interesting ways. We use Adobe Firefly, Ideogram, Copilot and others when working with image AI.

Sound AI
We’re not afraid to experiment in the area of sound generation. These tools help pupils to better understand sounds, rhythm and melody, whether it is music or correct pronunciation in foreign languages. We also open topics on deepfakes, which are often mentioned in sound generation. Tools we use include Suno, Elevenlabs and the like, or tools for converting text to spoken word.

Machine Learning Basics
We introduce students to the basic concepts of machine learning through simple, age-appropriate activities. This experience helps them understand how AI analyzes data and makes decisions. We have implemented machine learning so far with TeachabmeMchine or Scratch or MachineLearning for Kids.

3D modelling with AI
We use AI to support simple 3D modelling in engineering and computer science. This technology allows students to create interesting 3D objects and develop spatial thinking Meshy, Sloyd, …

By implementing these AI technologies into our education programme, we aim to prepare our students for a future in which AI will play a significant role. At the same time, we emphasize the ethical use of AI and the development of critical thinking skills so that our students can work responsibly and safely with AI-enabled technologies.

We believe that learning about AI in primary school is not just a trend, but an important step towards preparing future generations for success in the digital world. Our goal is for students to understand the possibilities and limitations of AI, and to see it as a useful tool that can support their learning and creativity.

Creations with artificial intelligence

In their computer science lessons, Year 7 pupils tried out how artificial intelligence can be used creatively – in generating artistic images. First, they used an online form to collect their own ideas – the main object, what it does, where it is located, other

eTwinning discussion across borders

There was eTwinning stuff going on at our school again! This time we took part in an international discussion activity that linked critical thinking, language skills, teamwork and modern technology. The pupils discussed three topical and inspiring topics selected and elaborated by partners from Italy,
