October – month of respect for the elderly

The month of October is traditionally dedicated to showing respect for older people. On this occasion, our school organised a special morning devoted to our grandparents. We were delighted to welcome seniors from the Úsmev Social Services Home, as well as the grandparents of our pupils.

Our pupils prepared a rich cultural programme for our honoured guests, full of talent, opened by a segment celebrating traditions. To begin with, the hall filled with beautiful folk singing and the rhythms of folk dances. This was followed by a performance featuring modern songs and an energetic dance that brought the atmosphere to life. We also involved the seniors themselves through a fun quiz with prepared questions, which tested their attention and brought many smiles. The entire morning culminated in the main highlight of the programme—a theatrical performance of Romeo and Juliet, presented by our talented pupils.

After the performance, our guests were treated to a warm mid-morning refreshment, lovingly prepared for them. Over cake and tea, a pleasant space was created for conversation, reminiscing, and bringing generations together.

We would like to thank all our grandparents for their visit, energy, and the smiles they shared with us. We are already looking forward to our next time together.
