Excursion to Štefánik

On 27 May 2026, pupils of classes VI.SA and VI.SB took part in an interesting excursion, which took them to several important places in Slovakia. The aim of the excursion was to introduce pupils to the personality of Milan Rastislav Štefánik, to get to know Slovak cultural heritage and at the same time to promote common experiences outside the school desks.

The first stop was the Mound of M. R. Štefánik at Bradla, where the pupils went on a walking tour of this important national monument. During the visit they learned many interesting facts about the life and work of one of the most important personalities of Slovak history.

The programme continued with a visit to the Miniature Park in Podolí, where pupils saw models of important Slovak castles, chateaux and historical buildings. The lecturer’s interpretation introduced them to the history of individual monuments and many of them appreciated the opportunity to “travel through Slovakia” in one place.

The end of the excursion belonged to Trenčín, where the pupils had a rest during the lunch break in OC Laugaricio and then returned to Žilina in the afternoon.
