We would like to share the beautiful afternoon we spent at our book launch ceremony Those were the days. We prepared the book as a joint work of our seventh graders and their grandparents. The grandparents willingly shared stories from their youth and together with the pupils we translated them into texts and illustrations. The booklet thus carries a piece of family history, warmth and wisdom. On the festive day, we prepared a cultural program that created a pleasant and homely atmosphere. Our pupils sang, played the piano and guitar and showed that they have a lot of musical talent in addition to writing stories. One of the most beautiful moments was the thanksgiving dance, which involved both parents and grandparents. It was a moment full of smiles, emotion and shared joy.
And because we also wanted to give our loved ones something made by the students’ hands, we prepared little angels – a small symbol of protection, thanks and love. Each angel was an original, created from the heart for those who stand by the children every day. The book was symbolically christened by the 1st grade teachers who taught our pupils to write their first letters and today they could proudly watch how these letters grew into whole stories.
We are glad that we could create something with the pupils that has value and will remain as a beautiful memory for the whole family. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents for coming, supporting the children and spending this lovely afternoon with us.
