Trip with a biologist

Last Friday, we successfully wrapped up our biology club with the students with our traditional field trip to a nearby forest park. The goal wasn’t a typical classroom session, but rather hands-on botanical and entomological exploration combined with creative activities. The weather was on our side, and many discoveries awaited us in nature: Basics of Entomology: The biggest success was catching insects and observing new, previously unknown species. The children also enthusiastically tried their hand at using a camera lens. We combined our field research with art right under the open sky. Using four small twigs, string, and flowers they had collected, the students made their own natural stained-glass frames through which they observed the play of sunlight. The whole event was primarily about freedom, sparking curiosity, and the desire to discover the world around us without the boundaries of the school curriculum…
