Strigaaaaaaaaaa… many people are afraid of this word and imagine someone evil, a woman who does evil.
The opposite is true.
On December 13th, our ancestors celebrated Lucia Day. Lucia was considered the greatest of all the strings. She was supposed to protect everyone from evil and evil spirits with her magic.
– On the eve of Lucia, people ate garlic, which was supposed to protect them from evil spirits.
– The young men on that day blew the cornet, blew the whistles, blew the horns … they made a great noise to drive the evil out of the countryside.
– The men started making a wooden stool for Lucia, believing that when they sat on it in church on Christmas Eve, they would see all those who wanted to harm them as ugly people with their backs turned to the altar.
– On Lucia, the Luckys went about the houses, sweeping the corners with a goose feather or a wing to exorcise and drive out all evil from the dwellings. They were covered with a white sheet and their faces were wrinkled.
In our school, the Luckys also swept the corners of the classrooms that day. We are glad that they did not have a lot of work in our school, because evil does not reign in our school.
