Christmas customs and traditions in Russia

Our clever pupil Mark Kurakin from Dolphins prepared a beautiful presentation for his classmates and told them about the customs and traditions in Russia. The most important part is the decoration of the Christmas tree in which the whole family always participates. In some families it is customary to paint windows and furniture – on glass or mirror cabinets depict the symbol of the coming year and other winter pictures. On New Year’s Eve, everyone sits together at the festive table, first seeing off the old year, remembering how they remembered it or what was the main thing in it for each of those present, and wishing each other that all the good from the old year will carry over into the new one. It was a great experience for the children!
