Today pupils of our school had the opportunity to attend a lecture Project Blue Life – Czech-Slovak story of ocean conservation, island ecosystems and sea turtles. NEPZ is an organization dedicated to educating children and youth about the importance of the world’s wildlife, its threats and conservation. The lecturer Tomas Šmátrala introduced the pupils to life in tropical seas, the threats faced by oceans and animals, as well as his own field experience in the Pulau Banyak archipelago in the Indian Ocean.
The lecture focused on conservation, drawing attention to current ocean issues and motivating children to make small but important changes in their daily lives. Proceeds from the lectures are dedicated to the real protection of the ocean and sea turtles, which our lecturers- Michaela Kršáková and Tomas Šmátrala are personally involved in protecting.
