National children’s reading marathon “READ 2023…” is an activity of the Children’s Security Line, which wants to motivate children to read books and to visit libraries regularly. We (pupils from 5th to 7th grade) took part in the reading marathon. We are convinced that reading promotes the development of a child’s personality, helps to learn about values, distinguish between right and wrong, and accelerates the development of speech and vocabulary. We believe that in this way we may have motivated someone to fall into the fantasy world of an engaging book during the summer holidays.
