Craft has a golden bottom

The seventh graders went to Budatín Castle on Wednesday. During an interesting excursion they could try traditional crafts and develop their creativity. In the first part of the programme they learned the basics of weaving. Under the guidance of the lecturer, they worked on small weaving frames, learned the technique of interweaving threads. Each pupil made their own small blanket to take home as a souvenir of the day. The second part of the excursion was devoted to working with wire. The pupils got acquainted with the basic procedures of shaping wire, learned how to use simple tools and made a nice wire heart. They practised patience, fine motor skills and imagination. In the end, everyone agreed that this form of learning is not only educational but also fun. The excursion showed them how much effort and cleverness is hidden behind handwork.
