Our sixth-graders swapped their modern school desks for the authentic atmosphere of past centuries in the picturesque village of Špania Dolina. The first stop of the trip was the Prof. Jozef Mistrík Historical School, where the students experienced firsthand what lessons were like for their peers in the past. Instead of regular pens, they picked up quills, dipped them into inkwells, and patiently practiced period-style writing.
After an experiential lesson in the historical desks, we set out to follow the traces of the famous mining history. We walked along the mining nature trail, which revealed not only the monuments and traditions of mining but also beautiful views of the surroundings of Špania Dolina. We returned home with new knowledge and many wonderful experiences.
