Visit to the Roman town of Carnuntum

Pupils VI. SA and VI.SB on Wednesday 3.6.2026 spent a day in the Roman city of Carnuntum. They were transported by time machine back to Roman times and found out how the Romans lived at that time. They found out that when visiting a Roman house you have to enter with your right foot so as not to offend the master of the house. They found out what the Romans used their right hand for and what they used their left hand for and also what a Roman amphora and our plastic bottle have in common. They tried on Roman clothes and learnt lots of interesting facts about their daily lives.

In the afternoon we used our time machine again and found ourselves at Eugene of Savoy’s beautiful Schlosshof. The lady guides prepared an extraordinary tour for us and took us where the ordinary tourist cannot go. We peeked into the second uninhabited floor of the castle and explored the mysterious dark cellars.
