Today we had a little escape into nature with the pupils – straight to the forest park behind the school! As a “field biologist” I accompanied them on a field trip during which we focused on:
🌼 flowering herbs,
🪲 insect watching and
🌿 collecting plants for the herbarium.
The children were most excited about catching insects – their nets were full of life! In addition, we managed to collect plants for the herbarium such as clover, bellflower, sparkleweed, lime tree and plantain. And there was also a lot of fun – whistling on the grass. 🙂
At the end of the day we relaxed in the shade of a part of the Chrasst’s woodland and returned refreshed back to school. It was a great “switch off” – just with our attention on the world around us. I’m already looking forward to another adventure like this!🍀
