Christmas Day

A week before the real Christmas, all the Bees in the class enjoyed Christmas Day together. From the very first lesson in SJL we have been breaking down the words associated with Christmas from sentences to syllables. We practiced math with numbers , gingerbread houses and Christmas trees…. and in READING we learnt about Slovak Christmas customs and traditions while practicing fluent reading….. throwing nuts, slicing apples, eating waffles and honey and garlic, flying nut boats, making ornaments from natural materials….

….. and we tried the findings a little later. After the groups, everyone completed a Christmas quiz with challenges and then while the punch was cooking, the children made ornaments using the ‘napkin technique’ and also a nut shell ornament and a candle boat.
We enjoyed waffles, gingerbread, punch….we were delighted by a star on a cut apple….the great fun was launching and watching the boats….refreshing was a surprise from classmate Emma, who offered us delicious baked cookies and also played the piano….there was a Silent Night … and the biggest anticipation was the distribution of Christmas mail and the unwrapping of presents – new games for the school club

It was a merry, relaxing, full and fun day
….. and we wish everyone such a merry, relaxing, full and fun Christmas…. merry, relaxing, full and fun…
