eTwinning activity – human skeleton

As part of an eTwinning project, our fifth graders embarked on an interesting challenge that links technology, creativity and knowledge from science. Using Google Drawings, they tried their hand at redrawing the bones of the upper part of the human skeleton using curves, not only practising accuracy and patience, but also gaining a better understanding of their shape and function.
We then exported the models we created into SVG and STL formats, which will allow us to take the project to the next level – the collaborative creation of a 3D model of the skeleton. In this way, pupils see the real-world overlap of their work into digital production and learn to link different areas of knowledge into one meaningful whole.
This project is a beautiful example of how eTwinning can bring innovative approaches and enthusiasm for learning into the classroom.
