There was eTwinning stuff going on at our school again! This time we took part in an international discussion activity that linked critical thinking, language skills, teamwork and modern technology.
The pupils discussed three topical and inspiring topics selected and elaborated by partners from Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic: gastronomy, video games in our lives, the body and the spirit of a young person. Our students were eager to exchange ideas, argue and listen respectfully.
The discussion was moderated by a former pupil of ours, who is now working with us as a mentor – and we have to admit that he did an excellent job. It is always encouraging to see someone who has been through the same benches themselves coming back and helping to motivate the younger generation.
The icing on the cake was the technology – we recorded the entire discussion and then analysed it using artificial intelligence (AI). This helped us to identify interesting moments, strong arguments and language expressions that were worth paying attention to. The result was an interactive feedback loop that showed students how to combine live discussions with modern technology.
This activity was proof that learning can be not only effective, but also fun and inspiring. Pupils left not only with new knowledge, but also with the feeling that their voice has value – not only in the classroom, but also beyond.
Well, you can hear how she evaluated the information from the AI discussion in these two podcasts:
