Projects from the life of the Romans

“Better seen once than heard a hundred times.” That is why the students of VI.SA and VI.SB prepared their projects on the life of the Romans in the framework of project and experiential learning. The projects were very creative and together we looked into the Roman coliseum, the Roman baths, saw the Roman aqueduct, tasted Roman food, dressed up a toga, saw a Roman camp and a Roman house, visited a Roman school and tried Latin and Roman numerals, there was also a Latin window and games that the Romans played in their free time and the famous game of Monopoly was transformed into Romanopoly. The boys prepared Roman weapons, how the Roman legions worked and also a duel between famous gladiators. Caesar Peter supervised the duels and taught the able-bodied how difficult the work of an archaeologist is. The pupils also presented their projects to younger classmates, who were able to win a sweet prize in competitions and quizzes. Our Roman Day was also unexpectedly visited by the firefighters, who became gladiators and archaeologists for a little while. And so it was once again confirmed that history can be taught in a different way.
